Since 1975, Rainbow Grocery Cooperative has been a San Francisco institution with a mission to providing healthy food and organic products, and creating an inclusive environment that promotes sustainable living. Located in the Mission District, this worker-owned co-op has one of the most comprehensive selections of organic, local, and affordable food in the Bay Area.

All produce at this co-op is 100% organic, locally sourced from independent farms whenever possible. The cheese bar includes a curated selection of domestic, imported, organic, raw, and handmade varieties from around the world, with new arrivals rotating in regularly. The bulk section carries over 800 products, from coffees, granolas, and nuts to flours, oils, miso, and chocolate, including bulk herb, spice, and tea selections. There's also an impressive array of pastas, sauces, olive oils, nut butters, jams, and baking essentials, all free from preservatives, artificial flavors, and hydrogenated oils. The beer, wine, and spirits department leans local and artisan, with a strong focus on California producers and a solid selection of organic, biodynamic, and vegan wines.
