Maison Jar is a refillery and zero waste grocery store built around a simple idea: buy only what you need, skip the packaging. Part neighborhood corner store, part sustainability hub, it's one of the most thoughtfully stocked small grocers in New York City and a genuinely fun place to shop.

The bulk section is the heart of the store, offering grains, rice, pasta, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, spices, oils, vinegars, and teas, nearly all organic or fair trade, dispensed into whatever container you bring. They also offer local produce, fresh bread, and a well-curated selection of packaged pantry essentials including curry pastes, chili crisp, tahini, tomato sauces, and nut butters. The refrigerated section features pasture-raised eggs, organic dairy, kimchi, sauerkraut, kombucha on tap, fresh hummus, and locally made cheeses. The store also carries a full range of household and personal care products in bulk refill format, everything from dish soap to shampoo to laundry powder.
